Our team, Palo Alto Homeless Pets, is thrilled that our AdoptMeApp came in second place in the HackPaloAlto App Challenge.

Many thanks to the City of Palo Alto for sponsoring this event. Particular thanks to our CIO Jonathan Reichental, our City Manager James Keene, our Mayor Nancy Shepherd, and HackPaloAlto for envisioning, creating and managing the Apps Challenge.

Our team submitted seven app proposals and the judges chose two as finalists. Their selection of AdoptMeApp as a finalist focused our efforts. Thanks so much to the judges for their careful review of all of the app proposals.

AdoptMeApp is now in beta testing at several animal shelters. We plan to take AdoptMeApp forward - our goal is to eventually make it available to all shelters and animal rescue groups worldwide.
