The Wind Rises - Anyone seen it?

Original post made by Boomer, Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Feb 28, 2014

I'm a big fan of Miyazaki animated films, but am wondering about this last one. Although close family is still to a devastating extent impacted by what happened in WWII on that side of the world, I'm not one of those people who carries around any animosity toward the Japanese. (Some people do.) I don't really think about it. The world is different, the past is past.

But I am a little leery of going to see a film if it might glorify any endeavor that played an important role in creating the Japanese War Machine of WWII. I hope I don't have to explain why.

Have you seen it? What do you think? If it were released in some Chinese retirement homes, would it be well received?
