The app was created using MIT App Inventor, a breakthrough tool that uses a visual program language to allow for creation of Android apps without the use of traditional coding. The tool enables the learning of the logic and creativity of programming first so syntax and other issues do not form an initial hurdle for novices.

This is great! Just drop the EPA part... Local communities are going to be way more responsive and effective at cleanup, no need to get the feds involved.

In this case, EPA refers to "East Palo Alto" not the government agency ;-)

This is absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful idea, and how inspiring to see these four young women go for it -- and gain recognition as well. Can't wait to download the app and use it myself!

It's great to see all these supportive comments. Given where we are in the center of the mobile app universe it there are any professional software developers, designers, project managers, marketing people, etc out there who work with app development and want to help out, please let us know.
