Senior-housing project riles neighbors

An overflowing crowd of Barron Park residents vented their frustration with dense housing and traffic problems and told Palo Alto Housing Corporation officials Wednesday night to build a proposed senior housing project elsewhere.

Classic case of MIMBYism and worries about falling home values there.
From what I witnessed living in a defined neighborhood in another nearby city that had a nice (well-built) assisted living center be built on the edge of that neighborhood, was - less issues than you'd think and not as much traffic as you'd think. Quiet, for sure. However, height of a building could make a difference (the one I know is not tall)
