Classic case of MIMBYism and worries about falling home values there.
From what I witnessed living in a defined neighborhood in another nearby city that had a nice (well-built) assisted living center be built on the edge of that neighborhood, was - less issues than you'd think and not as much traffic as you'd think. Quiet, for sure. However, height of a building could make a difference (the one I know is not tall)
