Have you experienced the "hidden" PAUSD's manual reconstructed by "Cardinal"?

Original post made by Mom, Fairmeadow, on Feb 28, 2013

I found this brilliant posting of "Cardinal" under the article "School district critics, lawyer clash on federal probe " on PA Online yesterday. Have you sensed this idea before? Write "agree" if you agree. Sorry no "Like" button. If you haven't brought your problems to school, you are discouraged to respond to this forum because you can not really judge his/her analysis unless you haven't tried to resolve them. I emphasize that some teachers/personnel are great. Here is his/her posting:

I want to applaud Dr Skelly and his supporters on the school board for their discipline in sticking to a proven formula for successful crisis management. They are following the tactics that my institution has used consistently when accused of permitting harm to children. Most of all, remember that the reputation and interests of our revered institution must supercede the interests of any individual.

1. Try to convince the so-called victims that they miss understood the intentions of the perpetrator and the problem is not as significant as they perceived.

2. If the problem continues, repeat Step 1.

3. Conduct an "internal" investigation and proclaim the institution has been found by itself to innocent.

4. Move the victim or perpetrator to another branch location and hope/assume that the problem will go away.

5. When the problem recurs, repeat steps 1-4.

6. When step 5 fails and the problem becomes public, blame the the messengers and the press. Insist that it is now the revered institution that is the victim due to the criticisms of its conduct.

7. Repeat step 3 and proclaim that the institution is now a model of exceptional conduct.

8. Stall on final resolution until you can retire.

Not everyone has to deal with the district office, but the part about blame the messenger is common practice. There is an atmosphere of defensiveness at the district office, and not rightly so because it's all about one person.

The Superintendent has forced people to be on his camp, or against him, and that means any issue is divided as such. Either you agree with the guy or not. That's not a healthy way to solve problems because it shuts out voices that have valid and important things to say. Especially on the inside I would imagine.

It's a mess, and did I hear they have a PR person to deal with the press and community?

Obviously these are the rules that Dr Skelly adheres to. Or maybe this is just his personal philosophy. The only things missing are: avoid eye contact at all cost, and avoid conversation with people over 21.

Mom: Glad you posted this brilliant proposed addition to the PAUSD manual recently uncovered by "Cardinal" It was too good to be buried in 100 comments in a different thread. I am glad that you gave us all a chance to read this. I only hope that Skelly doesn't retire in office (step 8) as I don't want my taxes going to support his shenanigans (I am being nice here) until that time.

Thank you Mom!!
Cardinal's comments are hilarious. Unfortunately those brilliant comments are portraying PAUSD reality, reality as too many experience.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
