City Council members to fight massive buildings?

Original post made by Michele, Greenmeadow, on Oct 17, 2012

Which city council members running for election are interested in enforcing regulations and not allowing huge blocky construction like the new Alma plaza? It is built right out to the sidewalk and I don't want to see any more buildings like this in Palo Alto. Who can I vote for that would be opposed to this kind of construction?

I agree. It seems like the character of the area is being sacrificed in the interest of increasing developers' and tax base incomes. I too would be interested in the candidates position on this issue.

Problem is, they will usually say anything they think you want to hear to get elected. No matter who you elect, you have to worry about their positions on matters afterward.

I think the City Council members need to know that they an be un-elected, by recall, if they do not fulfill campaign promises or pull a flip-flop after election.
