How wonderful, how generous, how very lovely of Harry W. and Margaret M. Anderson, with their daughter Mary P. Anderson Pence, to donate the "core" of their extraordinary art collection for public viewing at the Stanford University campus.

Viewing various expressions of art can open hearts, and thus open minds, as well as can be a source of great joy and inspiration.

Their gift to the community will be a global gift, to be enjoyed by generations of folks after the Anderson Gallery opens in late 2014.

Writing this comment so the donors can appreciate the depth of gratitude readers feel after seeing “Stanford to receive major art donation” in today’s news. I, for one, can’t stop smiling. Thank you Anderson family.
