Thank you for your heartfelt plea! Which reminds me...

UMCOR (United Methodist Comittee on Relief), is a non-profit global humanitarian organization that is responding to this disaster. UMCOR is part of the General Board of Global Ministries.

UMCOR is ecumenical; it delivers aid without regard to race, religion, politics, etc. Aid is never tied to any religious or political viewpoint.

100% of donated funds go to the relief programs (administrative costs come from other funds from within the UMC, no donated funds go to administrative costs).

Go to Web Link and click on the Japan/Pacific Emergency link to give.

Thank you, Weekly, for remembering that many people in our community do attend churches, synagogues and other faith communities where ecumenical work is a calling, and not ignoring them just because of that! (For the record, I am not from Aldersgate; I do know people who attend and it's a lovely church community.)
