Drunk drivers are terrorists. I'm very glad that DUI deaths are down this year. Drunk drivers kill more innocent Americans every year than foreign terrorists.

"Drunk drivers kill more innocent Americans every year than foreign terrorists."
Wow. What DOESN'T kill more Americans every year than terrorists, especially foreign ones?!?
Insufficient health care for uninsured kills 18,000 a year.
Obesity.
Smoking.
Probably skiing and snowboarding kill more.
Lightning?!?
Why would you bring in the Wah on Terrah in a post about DUI's?
MADD vs DAMM (drunks against madd mothers.) Madd won.

With all the budget cuts, I wonder if DUI arrests went down because fewer officers were on the street. Did anyone look at this?

"Did anyone look at this?"
Did you look into your premise that you based that question upon? ("because fewer officers were on the street")
I googled "Palo Alto fewer police officers " and did not find any evidence to support your premise.
Can someone post a link about staff reductions?

The article says there was a big drop in holiday traffic fatalities, which is a far more important statistic than the number of arrests.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund
For the last 30 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away almost $10 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
