Burglars clean out Lutticken's cash registers

Sometime during the dark, damp hours of Saturday night and Sunday morning, burglars broke into Lutticken's Deli in Menlo Park and cleaned out two cash registers.

Not to criticize Lutticken's, but I always thought businesses cleared out all their cash for the night. When I ran a cash register we had to deposit all money in the safe or the bank, except for enough to make change the next day - about $50, which isn't worth burgling. If I were a burglar I'd assume the register was mostly empty. Perhaps these ones knew the business?
