Car hits, flips ambulance on El Camino in Palo Alto

Five people were taken to the hospital after a Toyota sedan collided with an ambulance at Oregon Expressway and El Camino Real at about 10 p.m. Tuesday night (Oct. 26). [Web Link ==B Watch video==]

I wonder how fast the Toyota was traveling when it went through the green light. It's understandable how a person can't hear the siren if his/her windows are closed and the radio is on. (Let's hope they weren't texting at the time!) And it's easy to focus only on the green light and when you have the right of way.

But it's a wake up call for all to be aware of everything around us when driving. A moment's inattention can be fatal.
