Stanford, Xavier hit the 'Big' time Monday

Monday is the first day of classes at Stanford University and members of the women's basketball team are already skipping out. They hope to miss a little more school later in the week. The second-ranked Cardinal (34-1) has been doing some pretty serious studying of its own over the weekend.

Stanford changed the team's name from Indians to Cardinal and dropped the team mascot. The Stanford Band adopted the Tree as _ITS_ mascot... the Tree is not and never has been Stanford's mascot.
