Paly community honors devoted office clerk Lue Phelps

Palo Alto High School's band is brushing up on "When the Saints Go Marching In" to honor Lue Phelps, who, at 89, was still working at Paly until a month before she died Sunday. Phelps was at her desk, working as a data processing clerk in Paly's counseling office when colleagues noticed she was ill and took her to the Stanford University Hospital Emergency Room Feb. 16.
