A man was shot and killed at an East Palo Alto apartment building Wednesday night.

Officers were dispatched to 913 Tinsley St. after the Police Department’s ShotSpotter system and several callers alerted authorities to gunshots in the area at about 9 p.m.

Arriving officers found a 32-year-old man who had been shot in the head lying on his back on a rear patio of the apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was standing on the patio when two or more suspects appeared and began firing at least two guns at him, striking him at least once.

The suspects then fled, running through the apartment building and out onto Tinsley Street, police said.

The apartment building was hit by several bullets, but no other injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call East Palo Alto police Detective John Norden at 650-853-3177.

  1. Church leaders! Please reach out and teach communities to discriminate against homosexuals, to meddle in the health of women who want abortions, to teach us that if we suffer enough on earth – we’ll be saved in heaven! It’s what people in East Palo Alto need the most! They can all be helped (as long as they’re part of our religion, if not they’re condemned to die in an eternal fiery hell. Peace on Earth!)

  2. Dear Praying for You – what makes you think church leaders aren’t doing their jobs? They can’t stop the drug trade. They can’t destabilize gangs. I interact with a lot of church leaders and the majority seem to be busy with the work of their congregation as well as the overall community.

Individuals need to take responsibility. Parents need to take responsibility. Many of these homicides aer because the greedy will stop at nothing to, especially illegal activities, to get what they want.
