Palo Alto: A city where trees make news

For living things that grow slowly and mostly just stand around, trees in Palo Alto have been making big news locally -- along with a group of "tree heroes" recognized last week by the tree-advocacy organization Canopy. ==B Related material:==

These awards are pretty special. It's nice to see Palo Alto take trees so seriously & to read of such great achievements by its citizens. For Betty Meltzer to succeed with her "Dream of a Thousand Trees" is truly inspiring. I hope she was aware of her positive impact & I'm sure she will be missed. I think these awards & associated publicity highlight the importance of trees in our lives. Saving Our Trees Marrickville, Sydney Australia
