My friends Lions, you're born to be great
Never ever a second you be doubt, you're born to lead
Your own hearts
greatly
to the peace
You owe yourself.

I want you to know that I know
it's not sometimes easy
But always look for that peace, that flame
and you'll never found yourself lost again

Lions, my friends
I'm with you, my tears
but we're lions
we take lessons from our days
and will be stronger for tomorrow
with peace we share each other.

To all Lions at GHS, In memoriam of JP.

Though the family of Jean Paul Blanchard appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, the speakers at the services will be selected by the family. We appreciate your honoring this request.

This is just an unspeakable tragedy; I never had a chance to hang out with JP in person, but spent long hours online with him. He was a great guy, funny, likable, naturally popular, and his presence was a benefit to those who had the chance to enjoy it. "trueeevil" has friends both throughout the country and worldwide who will sorely miss him and are worse off for his loss. I only wish I could be there Saturday to represent a community of which JP was a valuable part.

Much love,

Shyft-

Dear Trueevil,

We played lots of games together and I am sad you see me go. I most regret never being able to beat you in a game. You were a better player than most. Let's play again some day

To the family and friends of JPB: There are no words to comfort, no action that will bring back precious life. May your hearts and minds mend as best they can knowing that we suffer for your loss as your neighbors and fellow parents. May we all grow stronger and more responsive to reading the glimpses of insight our children may share, may they forgive us for our under-estimations, and may we forgive each other. Peace be upon all of you

JP and i use to listen to this song while playing some Magic.

If I leave here tomorrow,
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
And the bird you can not change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Bye bye baby, it's been a sweet love. Yea.
And though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it so badly,
'Cause the Lord knows I'm to blame.
And if I stay here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And the bird you can not change.
And this bird you can not change.
The Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.
Lord I can't change.
Won't cha fly high free bird, yeah.

I'm shocked and bereaved by this turn of events. I spent a lot of time with JP/trueeevil online and we had many good moments. I hope that the next place in his journey is kinder than this one; which is in turn certainly poorer for the loss of him. As are we all.

He was so young and healthy.
Why did he do that?

With all respect to the family, I'm concerned that the funeral location won't be big enough for all the students and friends who would like to attend. Perhaps there can be a memorial at a larger place at a date sometime soon?

A question for clarification.

Is the memorial service on Saturday open to school friends of the boy or do the parents want this to be a more private family and close friends ceremony.

We want to respect the family wishes in this matter and there is some confusion among Gunn students and parents about this.

Could the parents of this cherished young man please clarify their preference?

With respect

Sharon

The numerous comments and outpouring of love from the community, parents and students has been wonderful and helps ease the pain. The Blanchard family understands the desire for all to express their condolences and are still working out the details for this Saturday's memorial.

This comment is for the online staff who I am guessing will read this rather than post it....
The latest about the memorial for JP Blanchard says the 10 funeral is to be private for family. The headline online here still says it's 10 a.m. As I read the family is planning a 12:00 public one at Mitchell Park. I URGE YOU to get your headline corrected so there isn't an overflow at the private service...and people who belong at the private service may not even get inside or seats.

true...

This is unbelievable.

How many times have we sat around crackin' jokes, laughing at each other, makin' fun of each other just for something to do?

Countless...

This is flat out no good.

You will be missed hardcore. Hands down one of the best personalities I've met on this godforsaken internet.

If I can manage to watch my language, make sure you save me a spot up there, man.

Until then, stay busy and keep your chin up.

Even though I never met JP, i think about him often. Whether its "I believe I can fly" or something else that trigors my memory, my heart goes back to him. Amazing how much you can care about a person without ever knowing it. I miss you JP
