Also, if myself or family needs medical care, I don't want to wait 20+ minutes for medical personnel from the Fire Stations in the flat lands.

Station 8 has been around for many years. I use to staff station 8 and sleep in the interpretive center before the real station was ever built.

The point. The residents of palo alto a long with the firefighters have had to put up without station 8 for far too many years.
What the firefighters and the residents have gotten a huge fire load of BS and lies.

The money has always been there for station 8, the need has always been there.

The politics, of the LOST PUBLIC FUNDING has always been there. Now one more person well several more people have ridden off into the sunset with the Money and benefits that should have paid for the Services of station 8.

I guess no one remembers the Palo Alto hills fire. The present chief does not. I guess no one listen to the story of the broken down brush rig that almost cost the Palo alto hills/los altos hills the remake of the Fire in 1985.

Ask someone who spent their hard earned money on a house in the foothills. With the Palo Alto promise. Everything is better here and we will give you the best services anywhere any service we have them all. That is why you pay so many taxes and have to fund bonds.

You would see how people in the station 8 service area feel? have to live. Do you want people lying in the street waiting for care after being hit while on their bikes? Engine 8 is only emt's, you have not even thought about their PARAMEDIC SERVICE.

With the Heavy Traffic on Oregon/Pagemill, Foothill/Jps and on 280. Responding down from station 8 is the fastest way to reach many areas.

Again, you know nothing of what you write about. Engine 8 in the foothills is a PARAMEDIC Engine.

The person who is feeding you information is making you look like a fool!

Their are 1 and 1/2 paramedic units. (Berkley has 3 full time.) Medic 1 and medic 2. Half the shift or 12 hours medic 1 is in service. Then it becomes E1P. lets not forget I was a Palo Alto Paramedic.12 years Paramedics do not function as Paramedics all the time in Palo Alto. Fire Engines are not paramedic level. You could add that care but they can not transport.

It is not an approved Paramedic unit. To put SOME of the equipment thats needed and some of the equipment the law states that you MUST have to be a legal provider of Paramedic level service.

The City has tried this before. Throw some junk medical equipment into a side compartment of a Fire Engine and call it a Paramedic unit. NEVER BEING LEGAL. It works on paper . When people who do not really know are looking in.

Lets just remember PEOPLE live in and travel through the foothills 365 days a years ,24 hours a day. THey need to be protected ALL the TIME not some of the time?

And more than one time you have seen and read them asking for help from the people running things. Many City employes have had to ask for help from the city. A group was formed to collect money that was from the public to help protect several city employees FROM THE CITY.

Many just say nothing. The check comes every 2 weeks, and don't say anything they will get the overtime under control to punish us and we will not get any overtime dollars. Everything is good go away.He is the problem not us.
I feel so bad for many of my good friends in the fire department. That have had to battle the city and have the union do nothing. The union will let the city screw you over, that they will do.

I was there when there was only 15 paramedics for the whole City, MEDIC 1 was it. I was one of the 15, remember the youngest PAFD paramedic ever.

I was there for E2P, do you know what that is. I was there for E1P ring a bell,

I was there for Medic 2 or .5% or Medic 12 hrs.

I was on the Board that worked on the Transport Engines

I was on of the Medic's on bikes, 2nd in charge of the program

I was their on of the SENIOR Paramedic for all the talks on how the Paramedic program would run and the goals for the future.
