I used them and i would have never gone to the college i am attending now if i had not used them. They walk you through the proccess and it relieves a lot of stress from the parents and student. They set a good time table so you are done with your applications before winter break in most cases.
I used college counseling associates in Menlo Park. They were really awesome people. I did everything college-related there.
I adore Jane McClure, of McClure Mallory and Barron in San Francisco. She may already be full for this year's applicants, but she's been incredibly helpful for my child (a Gunn sophomore). However, she is not such a fan of those wanting to use admissions counseling just to get their kids into the Ivy League. She's more about helping your child find the best match for them based on a whole host of their preferences and needs, not on figuring how out to insert your kid into the best Name Brand School.
