Thanks to the Community of Palo Alto

Original post made by Brenda Browne, Crescent Park, on Aug 28, 2007

As a committee member of the Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society, I would like to thank the local sponsors and community members who gave their support and time to raise awareness and money for cancer research, education and patient services on August 25th-26th at Palo Alto High School. The event kicked off with a Cancer Survivor Lap, followed by each team having a member on the track for the entire 24hours. Thanks to the Community Breast Health team, an incredible group of cancer survivors who have raised over $8,000 so far. Donations can still be made online until the end of August at www.acsevents.org/relay/ca/paloalto.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 30 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away almost $10 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
