The Future is Obvious

Original post made by Gary, Duveneck/St. Francis, on Aug 15, 2007

I am starting this thread, because I, occasionally, see statements to the effect that something is obvious in the future.

For example, "Almost ANYONE with a grain of common fiduciary sense saw this coming, yet the so-called "sophisticated" financiers and hedge managers continued to run after more profit, no matter how many small investors would lose everything."

The above was taken from the Mortgage Crisis thread. It is only an example.

I would like people who read this site to take their best stab at what is going to happen in the future. Then we can go back see how accurate they were.

I will start it off (prediction # 1):

1. If Hillary Clinton is elected president, she will continue major troop involvement in Iraq, Her policy will not be very different than Bush's policy...she will adjust according to conditions on the ground (both military and political). I further predict that she will re-start the draft, especially if she wins a second term.

Anybody else want to step up to the plate?

The criminal network are eager to keep a Republican in the White House.

The most despicable criminals who move freely between public and private sectors are Republicans. Here are some names of those still alive and still a threat to USA:

Kissinger
George Shultz
James Baker
Christopher Warren
G. Gordon Liddy
Robert McFarlane
Negroponte
Ollie North
Elliot Abrams
Cheney
Rumsfield
Woolsey
Tenet
Powell
Rice
Perle
Wolfowitz
Feith
Wurmser
Frum
Ari Fleischer
Ken Adelman
Stephen Solarz
John Bolton
Joshua Bolten
Phillip Zelikow
Scooter Libby
Judith Miller
Novak
Podhoretz
Kristol
Krauthammer
Rush
Hannity
O'Reilly
Blitzer
Ashcroft
Gonzales
Bremer
Chertoff

The Democrats have horrid people like Rahm Emanuel and Lieberman, but hardly anything compared to the Republican criminal network.

I think that it is high time to re-start the draft. once all those Chicken Hawk and Sunshine Patriot republicans start seeing their children going off to Iraq (the Bush daughters, Romneys 5 sons etc) there will be an immediate pullout.
in fact, is it too late to draft Cheney and Rumsfeld?

Dr. F. and Marvin,

What are your PREDICTIONS? Opinions, based on past events, are easy.

Step up!

Gary

Sorry you couldn't see my prediction so I will rewrite it again:

once all those Chicken Hawk and Sunshine Patriot republicans start seeing their children going off to Iraq (the Bush daughters, Romneys 5 sons etc) there will be an immediate pullout.

Okay????

I predict USA will be destroyed because we shall fail to erradict the fleas and ticks that have infested our most important institutions.

Just picking a few off will not be enough.

Marvin,

Your's IS a prediction, once you state it that way. However, it is vague. Five years from now, you can always hide beind the injustice that chicken hawk kids were not drafted, because there was no draft. If the war is not over by then, would you say that the war was not over, because the draft was not started? I am asking about what WILL happen.

Dr F.,

Uh..what is your time frame? Your "prediction" is so non-specific, that we will not be able to hold you to it. You could always claim that the time has not yet arrived. Fleas or no fleas.

-----

Both of you have the opportunity to predict the future. I took a shot at it. So far, both of you have taken a dodge. Let's see more specificity!

Ok, I am in

1) Congress's kids will continue to volunteer for the military at twice the rate of non-congressional kids. The military will continue to be

2) The military will continue to be between 60-70% Republican and only 13% Democrat...so will continue to have mainly Republican kids fighting for the freedom of speech of all, including the Democrats who don't support their work. Therefore, I predict that if a Democrat president is elected, the military will decrease again, like it did in the 90s, partly from Democrats cutting back the military, partly from Republicans leaving the military because they don't want their Commander-in-Chief to despise and undercut their work like the Democrats do now.

I have more...will continue later.

The Bush administration put out a feeler today. They want to redefine the Iranian National Guard as terrorist. Are we getting closer to war with Iran or is this just a test to see what the publics reaction will be?

Of course we are getting closer to war with Iran...their insane leader has vowed to eradicate us and is building nuclear weapons as we speak.

Do you propose we assure them that we will not defend ourselves? That we will "turn the other cheek?"

In your dreams, BS.

No Muslim or Arab nation has EVER attacked USA or threatened to attack USA in all of US history.

I predict the same supremacists, the ones who plotted to destroy Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon, will continue to pit Christian against Muslim in order to further dismantle our Constitution and to destroy our economy with inextinguishable war debt.

The Bible prophecies that Jews and Arabs will continue to antagonise each other. This started at the time of Abraham. His first son, Ishmael, was the father of modern arab nations. His second son, Isaac, with Sarah, became the father of Jacob and he was the father of the twelve sons who became the twelve tribes of Israel and the father of modern jews. The bible propehsied that Israel would become a nation again, which it did. The bible prophecies that Jews and Arabs (Muslims) will continue to make war with each other. I predict the Bible prophecies will continue.

Which Biblical prophecy?

Old Testament eschatology is quite different than that found in Revelation.

I predict:

1) More whacky posting on PA Online from the usual cast of characters

2) More over-the-top responses to the issues de jour by the citizens of PA

3) Little progress on improving the infrastructure, budget, or civic institutions in PA

Hope I'm wrong (except for the first of course)!

Fred
