food delivery

Original post made by Mom, Old Palo Alto, on Jul 14, 2007

I'd like to arrange a moderately priced weekly meal sent to our daughter and son-in-law after the birth of their baby this fall. They're primarily vegetarians though they do eat fish. I live too far away to personally provide this service for them. (I'm not even positvie what their neighborhood is.) Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks, mom

Look into the Bay Area parent's magazine (presuming that your daughter is in the Bay Area). They (used to) have advertisements for such services.

One option would be to give them a gift certificate to Waiters on Wheels, which delivers complete meals from most local restaurants. It's not cheap, but it sure is convenient. They have menu guide for all the restaurants they serve.

You could get a Whole Foods gift card and they could pick up stuff in the deli in advance; they have lots of veggie stuff. Any Whole Foods anywhere will sell you a gift card.
