CREW CLASSIC . . . The fifth-annual Windermere Real Estate Rowing Classic will be held Saturday and Sunday at Redwood Shores. The two-day regatta and free community festival runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. the first day and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 15th. The regatta features more than 100 crew races between the nation's top universities, as well as more than 400 club and high school rowers. Drawing nearly 1,000 athletes and countless spectators each year, the Windermere Real Estate Rowing Classic is one of the most anticipated rowing events on the West Coast.ÝIn addition to Stanford University, visiting teams include, George Washington, Notre Dame, Central Florida, Princeton, Oregon State, Loyola, Washington, Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia, Trinity College, California, Wisconsin, UCLA, Washington State, Gonzaga, Santa Clara, Sonoma State and UC Davis.ÝAthletes will compete in two days of Henley style racing, a one-on-one or a two-boat race used for competition at the famous Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England. Sports shorts are a great innovation. Regular materials get sticky but sports materials are light and stay off of your skin. I want to eventually help create the materials that go into them.
