A welcome tribute to Judge Manley

Original post made by Walter Bortz, MD, Portola Valley, on Feb 28, 2007

Living where and with whom we live it becomes a stereotype to presume the extraordinary people who are our community. In this sense I was greatly gratified that the Weekly chose to exhibit the life and work of Stephen Manley.

Stephen is a gem in any time and at any place, but his superb service to the underside of our community goes largely unrecognized. Stephen has reshaped and transformed thousands of lives, many more constructively than I was able to touch in my years as a physician.

Stephen's un-addressed heroism is worth immense acknowledgment, so I thank the Weekly for providing his portrait in its Feb. 23 edition.

Bravo to the Weekly, but multi kudos to Stephen Manley for his multiple unseen good deeds. We are all much the better off for what he does daily from his gentle and caring bench.
