Recommendations for buying a rollerblade

Original post made by Parent, Downtown North, on Feb 5, 2007

My 6 yr old wants a rollerblade .. not too sure how long the enthusiasm is going to last, hence I want to get a pair that is reasonable. Any recommendations for a store in Palo Alto? I would prefer a store where a sales person can try to fit the shoes (Toy'r'us has them at times - but for a clueless person like me, chances of getting the wrong fit are very high ! )

I got rollerblades that "grow" with the child for my kids. They come in a size range (ex: 4 to 6) and you can adjust the boot length so that the child can get 2or 3 years of wear. I got them at Palo Alto Toy & Sport, and they've always been pretty good about fitting rollerblades and soccer shoes.

Really speaking roller blades are not that expensive as they used to be 4 years ago. Go to WalMart and get a pair - of course - these are now made in china. Dirt cheap for new ones.
