Since the original New York production in 1955, which was directed by famed stage and film director Elia Kazan, Williams’ play has won both the Pulitzer and NY Drama Critic’s Circle awards for its rich character development and remarkable narrative.
The powerful drama is presented by a talented cast of performers, including seniors Sienna Beckman, Myles Rowland, Kerry Keating and Jenni Brandon; juniors Julia Robinson and Emma Townsend-Merino, sophomores Kaitlin Fronberg and Vera Czernichowska, and freshmen Keenan Rehlich, Kristie Nash and Alexander Most. Senior Paolo Lopez is the director and M-A Drama Instructor Mrs. April Paye is the producer of the production.
The script, which has been adapted for both film and television, is considered by many as a hallmark of contemporary drama, and is clearly Williams at his best.
