We will eventually end up with no service businesses in Palo Alto. This will increase the traffic, as we all have to drive to get groceries (Albertson's) auto service and parts, and electronics (Fry's potentially), to mention just a few. The high mark-up stores and boutiques will remain, and the inexpensive stores will be converted to more lucrative land use high density housing. All of us who presently live in Palo Alto will lose in this deal. Only the developers will benefit. We should encourage small businesses and groceries to stay.
