In a battle between last season’s No. 2 and 3 teams in the West Bay Athletic League, the visiting Priory girls had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Menlo School in a division opener for both teams on Thursday. It was the first time in nine matches this season that the Panthers (0-0-1, 5-1-3) had been held scoreless. Priory had many scoring opportunities in the second half, but weren't able to convert against the Knights (0-0-1, 1-3-5).

Menlo’s keeper tandem of sophomores Julia Dressel and Kelly McConnell played well while sharing the shutout. Dressel made six first-half saves while McConnell finished up with nine. Junior defenders Shannon Lacy and Elyse Adler stood out for the Knights, as well. Menlo coach Donoson FitzGerald also singled out junior midfielder Alex Tom, senior midfield Kelly Cavan and freshman forward Amanda McFarland for their play.
