It wasn't the best way to get ready for a league opener, but the Menlo School girls' soccer team will have to overcome Monday's 2-0 nonleague loss to visiting Mitty before it takes on visiting Priory on Thursday to open the West Bay Athletic League season. The Knights (1-3-4) continued their scoring woes against the Monarchs, who scored in each half -- the second tally coming on an own goal by Menlo, which once again split goalie duties between sophomores Julia Dressel and Kelly McConnell. Dressel had eight saves in the first half while McConnell added seven in the second. Junior defender Shannon Lacy played well in defeat.
