Hoping to play for a title after a big win over Palo Alto on Thursday, the Priory girls’ soccer team saw those hopes shot down in a 4-3 penalty-kick loss to Carlmont in the semifinals of the Palo Alto Winter Classic on Friday night. The Panthers (2-1-1) got a goal from Mariana Galvan (assist by Eugenia Jernick) in the second half, but the Scots also scored as the match ended in a deadlock at regulation. Priory will play Gunn for third place at noon on the Paly football field.
