Matt Ceran recorded 18 kills and 10 digs as the Stanford men's volleyball team defeated defending national champions UC Irvine, 30-28, 23-30, 30-28, 30-28, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Saturday night. Kawika Shoji had 51 assists for the eighth-ranked Cardinal (1-1, 3-1).
