Stanford junior Bradley Klahn, the reigning NCAA singles champion, saw his stay at the U.S. Open come to an end following a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 first-round loss to Sam Querrey on Wednesday at Flushing Meadow, N.Y. Klahn had received a wild card into the main draw based on his NCAA title.
