Defending champion Stanford finished off its first day of the Women's Open Nationals with a 12-4 water polo victory over SET (Saddleback El Toro) at Capistrano Valley High in Southern California. Stanford will take a 2-0 record into Saturday's first match against the Los Angeles Water Polo Club.

Stanford's roster includes Kate Baldoni, Kandis Cononica, Pallavi Menon, Alyssa Lo, Alexis Lee, Vee Dunlevie, Kim Krueger, Jillian Garton, Victoria Kennedy, Kaitlyn Lo, Cassie Churnside, Monica Coughlan, Cassie Cyckoff and Lizzie Peiros.
