The Palo Alto Oaks suffered their first loss of the season and came away from its weekend doubleheader with the visiting Morgan Hill Mudcats without a victory on Sunday in Western Baseball Association action. Palo Alto (12-1-2) dropped a 3-0 decision in the opener and had to settle for a 5-5 deadlock in the second game. Despite the non-winning weekend, Palo Alto advances to this week's State Playoffs in Santa Rosa and will take a No. 1 seed into Saturday's opener against the No. 2 seed out of the Sacramento Rural League at 1 p.m.
