Stanford graduate Josh Childress has returned to the NBA and will join two other former Cardinal players after signing a five-year contract with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. Childress, the No. 6 overall selection in 2004, will team with Jarron Collins and Robin Lopez this coming season. Collins and Childress played together at Stanford in 2001-02.
the 6-foot-8, 210-pound Childress played four seasons with the NBA and averaged 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds while helping the Atlanta Hawks end an eight-year playoff drought. He then left the NBA for Europe before making his NBA return this week. Phoenix sent a 2012 second-round draft pick to Atlanta to seal the deal.
