After defeating the nation's top team last weekend to win a national tournament, the Menlo boys' tennis squad had no problems with the top team from the North Coast Section as the Knights rolled to an 8-1 nonleague victory over visiting Monte Vista (Danville) on Wednesday. The teams played a six singles, three doubles format that is used in the NCS. That just played into Menlo's depth as the Knights (13-0) swept all six singles matches behind the play of Jamin Ball, Patrick Chase, Richard Pham, Andrew Ball and Daniel Morkovine. Menlo coach Bill Shine especially liked the winning efforts of his No. 2 (Brian Peltz-Tim Hoag) and 3 (Zach Chase-Mac Osborne) doubles teams.
