Zack Jones singled into left field in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Stanford a 9-8 victory over visiting Pepperdine on Friday night in a nonconference contest.

Jones, who entered the game with a .179 batting average, was 4-for-5 on the evening.

Jake Stewart drew a walk to open the inning and Ben Clowe singled him to third, setting up Jones' game-winner.

Stanford scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game and relief pitcher Alex Pracher pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win.
