Freshman Alix Klineman recorded 19 kills, 10 digs, seven blocks (three solo) and hit .425 as the Stanford women's volleyball team defeated visiting Santa Clara, 30-20, 30-28, 30-27, in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday night. Foluke Akinradewo added 11 kills and hit .556 as the Cardinal (28-2) advances to Saturday's second round against Sacramento State, which upset Minnesota in the first round. First serve is 8 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Stanford Regional for the Sweet Sixteen. Cynthia Barboza had 10 kills and nine digs, Bryn Kehoe had 45 assists and 10 digs and Gabi Ailes added 12 digs.
