The Castilleja soccer finally made up its rainout with Monte Vista Christian and the wait was well worth it as the Gators posted a 6-0 nonleague triumph at the Mayfield Soccer Complex on Friday, despite rain late in the match. Castilleja improved to 6-4.

The eventual winning goal came just 3:30 into the match when sophomore Emily Mosbacher received a throw-in from Caitlin Colvin and beat two defenders for a goal. Twenty minutes later, Charlotte Geaghan-Breiner sent a crisp pass to Mosbacher, who shot from the top of the box off the inside right post for a 2-0 lead. In the 29th minute Mosbacher dribbled from midfield and passed to Martha Harding, who placed a perfect shot low right for a 3-0 lead.

Two minutes into a rainy second half (both halves were shortened to 35-minutes), Mosbacher took a throw-in from Sara Dawes and placed the ball just out of the keeper's reach. Ten minutes later, Colvin passed to Mosbacher, who scored her fourth goal on a half-volley with the outside of her foot. With eight minutes to play, Meredith Geaghan-Breiner took a goal kick down the right side, passed to Rachel Brownell, who beat several defenders before placing a perfect shot low right for a final score of 6-0.
