The Palo Alto boys' soccer team came up with its worst defensive effort in quite a few years with a 4-0 loss to host Los Altos in a SCVAL De Anza Divisio match on a rainy, stormy Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings fell to 2-1-1 in league (5-3-4 overall) while the Eagles moved to 2-2 in league (6-4 overall).

Los Altos scored a goal with a minute remaining in the half before Paly pushed hard during the beginning of the second half as the Vikings tried to get the equalizer. Los Altos then took advantage of several Paly defensive miscues and continued to counter Paly's offensive push to score three goals during a hard rain in the second half. Thus, a very competitive game at halftime ended in a lopsided victory for Los Altos. Paly will host Mountain View on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
