Senior goalie Sandy Hohener recorded 10 saves as the Stanford men's water polo team defeated Pepperdine, 7-4, on Friday in the first round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament at Cal. Seven different players, including Palo Alto grad Ryan Fortune, scored for the Cardinal (17-6), which plays USC on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in what could turn out to be the match which decides the second MPSF berth into the NCAA Final Four.
