The Menlo boys' soccer team played Los Altos for the second time in just over a week and, on Monday, showed improvement despite a 2-1 nonleague loss to the host Eagles. The first meeting, at Menlo, was a 3-0 Los Altos victory. Knights' keeper Tim Costa was credited with seven saves while captains Jackson Badger and Sanjay Padval were singled out by coach Mark Arya for their contributions, as were midfield defender Ethan Leibovich and attacking outside back Vikram Padval, who scored on a penalty kick in the 40th minute off an assist from Sam Parker. Los Altos took a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute and won it in the 65th to drop the Knights to 1-3.
