The Menlo-Atherton boys’ water polo team advanced to the semi-finals of the CCS Division 1 play-offs with a solid 12-4 drubbing of Gunn at the St. Francis pool on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears will face St. Francis next Tuesday evening at Lynbrook High School.

Los Altos will take on #1 seed Bellarmine in the other semi.

Seven Bears found the net for M-A led by senior Andrew Higgitt’s 3 scores. Graham McClelland and team captain Eric Wright each had 2 goals and an assist for the victors.

Sophomore goalie Alex Gow turned aside 12 Gunn attempts. The Titans were led by Alex Berenfeld’s 2 goals and goalie Spencer Jones prevented an even larger margin of victory.
