The second-ranked Menlo boys' water polo team played up to its seeding and easily swamped No. 7 Willow Glen, 12-2, in the quarterfinals of the Central Coast Section Division II tournament on Saturday at Sacred Heart Prep. The Knights (21-6) grabbed a 3-0 lead after one quarter and held an 8-0 halftime advantage. Junior John Holland-McCowan scored three goals while senior Luke Carrino added two, as did Jack Finch. Menlo next will play in the semifinals on Tuesday at Monta Vista High against either Soquel or Aptos.
