Palo Alto defeated Wilcox in overtime. Officially, the game counts a tie since the score was tied at the end of regulation. The overtime win only counts as a tiebreaker between the two teams. Either way, Los Gatos lost, which means Palo Alto takes home the De Anza Division title. The Vikings finish the regular season 7-1-2 overall, and 4-0-2 in league. Since the Vikings were unable to take home a decisive victory in regulation, the Vikings will now need Burlingame to win their game tomorrow morning in order for the Vikings to be bumped up to the CCS Open Division. Competing in the Open Division is something Palo Alto has not done since the 2006-07 season, when they won the tournament and moved on to the California State Championship game. Competing in Open means they will be competing against teams like Archbishop Mitty, the one team that has beaten the Vikings this season. If the Vikings don't get bumped up to Open, they will likely play in the Large Division, where they should be a favorite to win the tournament.
