The Sacred Heart Prep boys' water polo team finished up a strong 3-1 performance at the annual North-South Challenge with a pair of victories on Saturday, giving the Gators fifth place in the 16-team tournament.

Sacred Heart Prep (16-4) held off Dos Pueblos on Saturday morning, 12-10, and finished its four matches with an 8-7 win over Acalanes in the fifth-place game at Sacred Heart Prep. El Toro of Southern California won the title.

The Gators were led by the one-two scoring punch of junior Philip Bamberg and senior David Culpan. Bamberg and Culpan each scored seven goals in the two wins on Saturday, while senior goalie Ben Dearborn had 22 saves. For the four-game tournament, Bamberg tallied 15 goals and Culpan added 13, with Dearborn amassing 43 saves.
