The Sacred Heart Prep boys' water polo team clinched no worse than a tie for first place in the West Catholic Athletic League with a 15-3 swamping of visiting Valley Christian on Tuesday. The Gators improved to 5-0 in the WCAL (12-3 overall) with just Bellarmine remaining on the schedule. SHP holds a one-game lead over St. Francis, a team the Gators defeated last week.

The SHP starters were pretty much done by halftime after they had forged a 9-1 lead. Junior Philip Bamberg led the way with four goals while senior Zach Straube added three. Senior goalie Ben Dearborn had nine saves, all in the first half.
