Pinewood 50, Calvary Christian 6

Anchored by a stalwart defense that yielded only six points in the closing seconds of the game, Pinewood rolled to its fifth consecutive victory with a dominating 50-6 triumph over visiting Calvary Christian on Thursday in an eight-man football game in Los Altos Hills.
The defense was led Kevin Sweat with 11 tackles and Peter Gallagher and Michael Darrow with five apiece. On the offensive side, Matt Dawes carried eight times for 93 yards. Senior quarterback Max Lippe turned in another strong performance, combining 69 yards on five carries with 203 yards on 15-of-22 passing. Lippe tossed passes to five different receivers, with Dante Fraioli hauling in three touchdowns, and Anthony Brewer and Kevin Sweat each hauling in one.
Next week, Pinewood (5-0) hosts division rival Crystal Springs at Pinewood on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
