The Gunn girls' tennis team pretty much put the PAL Bay Division into perspective by knocking off division leader Menlo-Atherton, 6-1, in a nonleague match on Wednesday. The Bears (8-2) played without No. 1 singles player Marietta Tuionetoa, but her absence didn't really affect the outcome as the Titans (7-6) swept the singles behind victories from Allana Booth, Constance Wu, Mari Haraguchi and Alice Li.

Menlo-Atherton did change its lineup around, but threatened in only three matches that went to three sets. Gunn's Michelle Stevenson and Tiffany Russell dropped their first set at No. 3 doubles, but rallied for a 4-6, 7-6 (10-8), 10-8 victory to help wrap things up. Wu and Haraguchi also dropped the first sets in their respective matches before rallying for victories, as well.

Gunn 6, at Menlo-Atherton
Singles -- Booth (G) d. Keating, 6-4, 6-1; Wu (G) d. Sommer, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2; Haraguchi (G) d. LaPorte, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3; Li (G) d. Scandalis, 6-0, 6-0.
