The Palo Alto girls' cross-country team produced a solid effort while taking second in the annual Central Park Invitational over a 2.3-mile courst in Santa Clara on Tuesday. Gracie Cain was eighth (14:52) and Kathleen Higgins ninth (14:53) to pace the Vikings, who put five runners among the top 20 finishers.
