Palo Alto senior Philip MacQuitty was the top finisher from the Central Coast Section while taking sixth in the varsity boys' seeded race at the annual Stanford Invitational cross-country meet on Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.

MacQuitty ran 15:27 over the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) layout, averaging 4:59 per mile. Gunn senior Paul Summers was close behind in seventh while clocking 15:30 with Mountain View junior Parker Schuh third in 15:35 to round out the top three CCS finishers. Erik Olson of Novato was the individual winner in 14:53. He was the state leader in the 3,200 during last spring's track and field season.
